The young, sparkling author of three best sellers – ‘The Deliberate Sinner’, ‘Mistress of Honour’, ‘Love Bi the Way’ enthralled the audience at the 69th AAA. The latest book “Undaunted” was at the centre of discussion. This book, considered a tribute to Lieutenant Ummer Fayaz, who was in the hit list of Indian Mujahidin, was brutally murdered by the terrorists.
In his brief, inspiring life, Ummer, who epitomised Kashmiryat, joined Indian Army. He inspired fellow Kashmiris to move beyond the vicious cycle of violence. Bhaavna, who has near ones in the Indian Army, was deeply moved by Ummer’s tragic end.
Her work on Ummer Fayaz took two years of painstaking research, including six months of travel into the alleys and valleys of Kashmir. She left no stones unturned throughout her study. In her words, ‘Undaunted’ is a kind of an ode to the revolution which Ummer initiated in Kashmir.
Threat calls, stones pelted at her, fear of terrorists could not deter her undaunted spirit. Audience had a glimpse of the length to which Bhaavna has gone to render an authentic account of Kashmir and lives of Army men posted there.
‘Deliberate Sinner” the first literary work of Ms Arora was a journey in self-discovery while ‘Love Bi the Way’ focused on sexual compatibility on the part of the women. The latest one ‘Undaunted’ is a prayer for young Kashmiris who must have a deep look at who their real heroes should be.
Nilisha Agarwal of Ehsaas Women Kolkata, smoothly engaged her throughout the session.
