An Authors Afternoon on July 21st, 2012, hosted Pramod Kumar KG as the guest author at The Taj Bengal, Kolkata. The session focused on the author’s recently launched book Posing for Posterity: Royal Indian Portrait. The book, which goes back to the days of the Raj, is on the early history of the portraits and photographs in Princely India held either as private collections or are still maintained by the descendants of the former princely states. The hour-long chat session was between Moon Moon Sen and Pramod Kumar KG., the first director of Jaipur literature festival.
Pramod Kumar KG is the Managing Director of the Delhi-based Eka Archiving Services Pvt. Ltd. – India’s first museum consulting company. He is the consultant curator for the City Palace Museum, Udaipur and was the Associated Director of the Alkazi Foundation, which holds the Alkazi Collection of Photography. He established the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing in 2005, and was its Founder-Director. Pramod KG also organised the Jaipur Heritage International Festival. An Authors Afternoon series is being organized by Prabha Khaitan Foundation in association with daily newspaper t2 and Jaipur-based cultural organisation, Siyahi. The whole series is being sponsored by Shree Cement.
